Hey there, fellow recovery warriors! Grab a cup of herbal tea, put on your favorite meditation playlist, and let’s dive into the fascinating world of chakras and how they can help us on our journey to sobriety.

Picture this: You’re on a path to recovery, navigating the ups and downs, and suddenly, you stumble upon the mystical realm of chakras. What are these colorful energy centers, you ask? Well, buckle up because we’re about to embark on a whimsical journey of self-discovery, healing, and a touch of fun!

This post will journey through the colorful world of chakras and addiction recovery. I’m your guide, and I’ve been through the rollercoaster of recovery myself—almost eight years and going strong. But let’s not get too serious about it. We’re here to explore how working with my chakras aided me in overcoming my addiction to heroin.

Most of us who are struggling with addiction are trying to fill a void or a hole within ourselves with substances. Before I began this work, the guy I was seeing overdosed and died, and my best friend- went to jail for allegedly selling him the dope that killed him.

This forced me to take a long, hard look at what I was doing and why. I knew that the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, but that didn’t stop me from trying for more than twenty years.

Sound familiar? By this point, after sitting through the 2015 Super Bowl alone, I knew I had to make some drastic changes, but I was only willing to start small (as usual.) I started using the law of attraction to make small changes. Even though I thought they were all crazy, I was desperate. My search led me to learn about the chakras, getting sober, getting Reiki, and then becoming a Reiki practitioner because, in case you don’t know, EVERYTHING is energy.

Before proceeding, I want to let you know that some recommendations in the post might require the use of meditation or visualization techniques.

Finding and exploring my spirituality (not to be confused with religion) filled the hole within that I had been trying to fill for so long with heroin, and I believe it can do the same for you. The more I began to dig up information to disprove the fact that we as a society have been horribly and irrevocably lied to for our entire existence, the more I would learn and experience to further prove what I was attempting to disprove.

It wasn’t long before the synchronicity became too big for me to ignore. Shortly after that, I witnessed real and true magic with my very own eyes. I have even got videos. Before we proceed, I would like to ask you one thing. It’s small, but it will make a big difference in how you receive this life-altering information.

I am asking you to keep an open mind. How hard is that? Not too hard. I am constantly letting readers know how important authenticity is to me because I need you to know that I would never BS you. I only want to help people and prevent them from wasting twenty (or more, probably less) years of their lives like I did. This post will help if you decide to keep an open mind.

Embarking on the journey through chakras is like unlocking a treasure chest of self-discovery and healing. These seven energy centers, known as chakras, are integral to the holistic well-being of mind, body, and spirit, especially with addiction and recovery. Each chakra is a unique powerhouse governing specific aspects of our existence and holds the key to unlocking a more balanced and harmonious life, substance-free.

From the rooted stability of the Muladhara (Root) Chakra to the ethereal connection of the Sahasrara (Crown) Chakra, these energy hubs guide us through the intricate dance of our own energies. So, buckle up as we take a colorful expedition through the chakras, exploring their individual nuances and discovering how they can play a transformative role in addiction recovery and overall well-being.

Stability & Health: Ah, the root chakra, our anchor to the physical world. Just like a tree needs strong roots to withstand the winds of change, we also need stability in our journeys of recovery. This chakra reminds us to ground ourselves, reconnect with our bodies, and find stability amidst the chaos.

Prepare for this root chakra visualization in a quiet and comfortable space. Find a seated or lying position, ensuring you won’t be disturbed. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself, allowing your body to relax.

  1. Foundational Breath Awareness: Begin by focusing on your breath. Inhale deeply, directing the breath to the base of your spine—the location of the root chakra. Exhale slowly, releasing any tension. Continue with deliberate and grounding breaths.
  2. Visualize a Deep Red Glow: Close your eyes and visualize a deep, vibrant red glow at the base of your spine. Picture this red light expanding with each breath, creating a warm and grounding energy. Feel the comforting and stabilizing essence of the red light.
  3. Rooted Tree Visualization: Envision yourself as a strong and rooted tree. Picture your legs as the trunk, extending deep into the Earth. Feel the energy of your roots reaching down, establishing a firm connection with the soil. Sense the stability and support of your rooted foundation.
  4. Earth Energy Absorption: Visualize the red light transforming into a stream of Earth’s energy, flowing up through your roots and into your body. Feel this energy nourishing your root chakra, instilling a sense of security and stability.
  5. Safety and Security Blanket: Picture a warm and protective blanket of energy surrounding your body. See this energy extending from the base of your spine, creating a cocoon of safety. Allow the sense of security to permeate every cell of your being.
  6. Grounding Crystals Connection: Envision grounding crystals, such as red jasper or hematite, surrounding your root chakra. Feel the energy of these crystals resonating with your root, promoting balance and stability. Sense their protective influence on your energy.
  7. Root Chakra Affirmations: Integrate affirmations that align with the root chakra’s energy. Examples include “I am grounded and secure” or “I trust in the process of life.” Repeat these affirmations, allowing the words to settle into your consciousness.
  8. Earth Connection Meditation: Imagine yourself in a serene natural setting—a forest, meadow, or mountainside. Feel the connection between your body and the Earth beneath you. Allow the grounding energy of the Earth to infuse your root chakra.
  9. Balancing Yoga Poses: Visualize engaging in grounding yoga poses, such as Mountain Pose or Tree Pose. Picture the energy of the Earth supporting and stabilizing you as you move through these poses. Sense the alignment of your root chakra.
  10. Return to the Present: When you feel ready, gradually bring your awareness back to the present moment. Take a few deep breaths, acknowledging the stable and grounded energy within your root chakra. Open your eyes and carry this rooted stability into your daily life.

Regular practice of this root chakra visualization can help individuals in recovery establish a strong and stable foundation, fostering a sense of security and groundedness on their journey toward healing and transformation.

More: Imagine yourself as a mighty oak firmly rooted in your commitment to sobriety. When we focus on our root chakra, we cultivate a sense of security and safety. We become aware of our fundamental needs and work towards fulfilling them. It’s like building a solid foundation for our recovery house. So, dear warrior, take a moment to visualize yourself firmly rooted, standing tall, and capable of weathering any storm that comes your way. We always do.

Grounding: Imagine your root chakra as the anchor of your recovery ship. It’s all about stability, security, and feeling grounded. When we’re bouncing around like a pinball in early recovery, this chakra helps you find your balance.

Begin this root chakra exercise in a calm and comfortable space. Have a journal and pen nearby and sit in a relaxed position. Take a few deep breaths to ground yourself, feeling the connection between your body and the Earth.

  1. Rooted Meditation: Close your eyes and focus on your breath. Picture a red, grounding light at the base of your spine—the location of the root chakra. Envision this light extending down, forming roots that anchor you to the Earth. Breathe deeply, drawing in stability with each inhale and releasing tension with each exhale.
  2. Grounding Walk: Take a mindful walk outdoors, preferably in nature. Feel the connection between your feet and the Earth with each step. As you walk, visualize the energy from the Earth rising through your body, nourishing your root chakra and instilling a sense of stability.
  3. Root Chakra Affirmations: Develop affirmations that resonate with the energy of the root chakra. Examples include “I am grounded and secure” or “I trust in the process of life.” Repeat these affirmations with conviction, allowing the words to permeate your consciousness.
  4. Earth Connection Visualization: Imagine yourself sitting or lying on the bare ground. Visualize the Earth’s energy rising through your body, clearing away any stagnant or negative energy. Sense the solidity and support of the Earth beneath you, fostering a deep-rooted connection.
  5. Physical Grounding Yoga Poses: Incorporate yoga poses that focus on the lower body, such as Mountain Pose, Tree Pose, or Child’s Pose. These poses enhance the flow of energy to the root chakra, promoting physical and energetic stability.
  6. Root Chakra Crystal Meditation: Choose grounding crystals such as red jasper or hematite. Hold the crystal in your hand or place it at the base of your spine during meditation. Allow the crystal’s energy to resonate with your root chakra, promoting a sense of security.
  7. Grounding Rituals: Develop grounding rituals, such as spending time barefoot on natural surfaces, gardening, or sitting against a tree. Engage in these activities regularly to strengthen your connection with the Earth and promote root chakra balance.
  8. Safety and Stability Reflection: Open your journal and reflect on aspects of your life that make you feel safe and stable. This could include relationships, routines, or personal achievements. Acknowledge the areas where you already experience a sense of security and build upon them.

Incorporating these root chakra grounding exercises into our routine can foster a strong foundation for our journey. This process helps establish stability, security, and a deeper connection with the Earth, contributing to a more balanced and resilient recovery.

Third Eye Chakra Correspondences
Chakras and Addiction Recovery: A Whimsical Journey to Inner Healing 169

Intuition and Inner Wisdom: Ah, the third eye chakra, the seat of intuition and inner wisdom. Ever had that gut feeling? That’s your third eye chakra talking to you. It’s like your internal GPS guiding you away from addictive triggers. As we heal and make better choices, our inner guidance becomes stronger. Trust your instincts, embrace your inner guru, and let your intuition be your recovery compass. You’ve got this, and your inner wisdom will guide you every step of the way.

When we tap into our third eye chakra, we access our intuition and inner knowing. We learn to trust ourselves and make decisions aligned with our highest good. So, dear warrior, close your physical eyes, and open the eye of your soul. Let your intuition be your guide as you navigate the twists and turns of your recovery journey.

Find a tranquil and comfortable space for this third-eye chakra visualization. Sit or lie down, ensuring a peaceful environment. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself, allowing your mind to quiet.

  1. Centering Breath: Begin by taking slow, intentional breaths. Inhale deeply, directing your breath to the space between your eyebrows—the location of the third eye chakra. Exhale slowly, releasing any mental tension. Continue this centering breath.
  2. Visualize a Luminous Indigo Light: Close your eyes and visualize a gentle, luminous indigo light at the center of your forehead. Picture this light expanding with each breath, illuminating your inner vision. Feel the calming and expansive energy of the indigo light.
  3. Sacred Space of Insight: Envision entering a sacred space within your mind—a space that symbolizes your intuitive insight. This could be a serene garden, a library, or any setting that represents the expansiveness of your inner wisdom.
  4. Mystical Pathways of Insight: Picture pathways within your sacred space leading to doors of insight. Each door represents a different aspect of your intuition. Choose a door intuitively and open it, allowing a flood of intuitive wisdom to reveal itself.
  5. Connection with Higher Self: Visualize a luminous figure within your sacred space, representing your higher self. Engage in a silent conversation, seeking guidance and wisdom. Allow the connection with your higher self to deepen, fostering a profound sense of inner knowing.
  6. Guided Insight Meditation: Envision a guided meditation within your sacred space, led by your higher self. Allow the meditation to unfold, revealing insights and revelations that guide you on your spiritual journey. Sense the expansion of your intuitive abilities.
  7. Affirmations for Intuition: Integrate affirmations that resonate with the third eye chakra’s energy. Examples include “I trust my inner wisdom” or “My intuition guides me on my path.” Repeat these affirmations, letting them penetrate your consciousness.
  8. Crystal Clear Vision: Picture your mind’s eye becoming crystal clear, like a pristine pool of water. See visions and insights reflected on the surface, allowing your intuitive perceptions to manifest with clarity. Embrace the gift of clear vision.
  9. Nature Connection for Insight: Imagine yourself in a natural setting—a forest, mountain, or by the ocean. Feel a deep connection with the wisdom of nature, recognizing the interconnectedness of all living things. Sense the insights nature offers for your spiritual journey.
  10. Return to the Present: When you feel ready, gradually bring your awareness back to the present moment. Take a few deep breaths, acknowledging the heightened sense of intuition and insight within you. Open your eyes and carry this expanded awareness into your daily life.

Regular practice of this third eye chakra visualization can help individuals in recovery tap into their intuitive abilities, fostering a deeper connection with inner wisdom and insight on their journey toward healing and self-discovery.

Set aside a quiet space for this exploration into the realm of your third eye chakra. Ensure you have a journal and pen nearby, and find a comfortable position. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself and let go of external distractions.

  1. Meditative Visualization: Close your eyes and focus on the point between your eyebrows—the location of the third eye chakra. Imagine a deep indigo light emanating from this area. Envision this light expanding with each breath, awakening your intuition and insight.
  2. Dream Journaling: Keep a journal by your bedside and record your dreams upon waking. Dreams often contain symbolic messages from the subconscious, providing valuable insights that can be aligned with the intuitive nature of the third eye chakra.
  3. Mindful Observation: Practice mindfulness by observing your surroundings without judgment. Notice the details—the colors, textures, and sounds. This heightened awareness enhances your intuitive senses, allowing you to perceive subtle energies.
  4. Trataka Meditation: Engage in trataka meditation, a concentration practice involving gazing at a fixed point. This could be a candle flame or a specific image. As you maintain focus, let your mind relax, opening the gateway to intuitive insights.
  5. Affirmations for Intuition: Create affirmations that resonate with the third eye chakra’s energy, such as “I trust my inner wisdom” or “I am open to receiving intuitive guidance.” Repeat these affirmations regularly to reinforce your connection to intuition.
  6. Connect with Nature: Spend time in nature, whether it’s a park, a forest, or by the sea. Nature has a way of quieting the mind and heightening intuitive senses. Observe the natural world around you and allow it to inspire your inner vision.
  7. Tarot or Oracle Card Reading: Use tarot or oracle cards as tools for intuitive exploration. Pull a card with a specific question in mind or simply to gain insight into your current situation. Trust the messages that arise, as they may offer guidance from your intuition.
  8. Explore Creative Visualization: Visualize a scenario or decision you’re contemplating. Imagine each potential outcome and pay attention to your intuitive reactions. This creative visualization can illuminate the path that aligns with your inner knowing.

By consistently engaging in these third eye chakra exercises, individuals in addiction recovery can enhance their intuitive abilities and gain deeper insights. This process not only aids in decision-making but also strengthens the connection to one’s inner wisdom, contributing to a more holistic and guided recovery journey.

Recovery is not just about the physical or mental aspects; it’s also a spiritual journey. The crown chakra connects you to a higher purpose, reminding you there’s more to life than addiction.

Connecting to the Divine: Last but certainly not least, the crown chakra is our connection to the divine. As we recover, we realize that we are part of something greater than ourselves. Whether it’s through meditation, prayer, or simply taking a moment to appreciate the beauty around us, let your spirit soar and connect with the higher power of your understanding. When we activate our crown chakra, we experience a profound sense of connection to the universe and all that is. We surrender to the flow of life and trust in the divine plan. 10. Return to the Present: When you feel ready, gradually bring your awareness back to the present moment. 1. Meditative Silence: Begin by sitting in stillness, focusing on your breath. As you breathe in, imagine a stream of pure, white light entering through the crown of your head. With each exhale, visualize any tension or distractions leaving your body.
  2. Guided Meditation for Unity: Explore guided meditations that emphasize the interconnectedness of all beings and the divine. Allow your mind to expand beyond personal concerns, tapping into the universal wisdom associated with the crown chakra.
  3. Mindful Silence in Nature: Spend time in nature, seeking a quiet spot. Practice mindful silence, tuning in to the sounds of the natural world. Feel the breeze, listen to the rustling leaves, and connect with the energy that transcends the physical realm.
  4. Journaling Spiritual Insights: Open your journal and reflect on any spiritual insights or moments of divine connection you’ve experienced. Write about your beliefs, questions, and any guidance you feel you’ve received. Journaling helps crystallize spiritual experiences.

  6. Gratitude for Existence: Cultivate gratitude for the gift of existence. Express appreciation for the interconnected web of life, acknowledging the sacredness of each moment. This practice opens the heart to higher states of consciousness.
  7. Connect through Prayer or Ritual: Engage in prayer, rituals, or ceremonies that resonate with your spiritual beliefs. These practices serve as a bridge between the earthly and spiritual realms, fostering a sense of connection with divine energies.
  8. Contemplative Reading: Explore sacred texts, spiritual literature, or philosophical writings. Allow the wisdom of these texts to inspire contemplation and reflection. The insights gained can deepen your understanding of spiritual truths and the nature of existence.

By regularly incorporating these crown chakra exercises into your routine, individuals in addiction recovery can nurture their connection to spiritual wisdom. This process fosters a sense of purpose, meaning, and divine guidance, contributing to a more profound and spiritually grounded recovery journey.

  • Meditation: Meditating on each chakra can help you tune into and balance them.
  • Yoga: Different yoga poses to target specific chakras, promoting balance and well-being.
  • Crystals and Stones: Crystals like amethyst, clear quartz, and rose quartz can enhance chakra healing.
  • Herbs: Working with herbs corresponding to the chakra you are working on is incredibly beneficial. By simply dotting on some essential oils or sprinkling some herbs into your bedtime tea or dinner dish, you can aid your chakra in to a speedy recovery. Some other options might be to take well-researched or trusted 100% organic herb supplements or throw a few sprigs in your diffuser, or leave dry sprigs on the dashboard of your car.
  • Sound Healing: Use singing bowls, bells, tuning forks, or guided chakra meditation tracks to harmonize your energy centers.
  • Aromatherapy: Burn chakra incense or soak in a bath with Epson salt and chakra-corresponding bath oil and/or salts. Certain scents can stimulate or soothe chakras—for example, lavender is for the crown chakra, and orange is for the sacral chakra.
  • Diet: Eat foods that are corresponding chakra colored. For example, If you are working on your third eye chakra, eat eggplant and red grapes. If you are working on your solar plexus chakra, eat squash and bananas. This one is important and will benefit you in more ways than you know. If you’re like me, you were never taught that nutrition is detrimental to healthy mental states. It took me many years to figure this out. When I saw firsthand the change in myself after eating healthy foods with no preservatives that had been freshly picked and purchased from the only two organic isles at my local grocery store, it was more intense than THE most intense epiphany. Isn’t that just some word pocket science right there? Yeah. Not so much. Sorry about that. It’s late.

I used to laugh out loud when people would talk to me about nutrition and what I put into my body. I mean- I spent most of my life incarcerated and didn’t have much of a choice aside from which flavor Ramen I was having for dinner. We have never cared what we put in our bodies. We inject drugs into our bodies and take the word of our drug dealers when they promise us that we are buying MDMA. Are we CRAZY or what? Start to care. Start slowly. You can just start checking out labels at first and doing some research and move on to adding a vegetable or fruit to your daily intake and go from there.

Remember, chakras are like the GPS of your inner world. They won’t magically solve addiction, but they can be your trusty co-pilots on your path to recovery. Don’t take it all too seriously; life’s too short for that. Have fun, explore, and allow your chakras to be your quirky companions on this wild ride. All I can do is tell you what worked for me and that working through my chakras to clear blockages was and is a complete GAMECHANGER, and I would know. I was the one that people bet their kid’s lives would never change. All those poor kids, man. Sorry, NOT sorry. Ew. Did I just type that? Ew.

I have been dying to write this post. Sometimes, I feel as though I have unlocked secrets of the Universe throughout my recovery, and I kind of have. Anyone who knew me in my active addiction knew that not only did I not put out the desire to change anything about my wonderful life, but also that I had absolutely zero willpower. I still don’t, really. This is why the chakras and the law of attraction were integral to my recovery journey. What I was doing and what I knew wasn’t working.

This is where things get hard for me. I genuinely want to help people and aid them in not making the same unnecessary and life-altering mistakes that I made, but as you know, you can lead a horse to water… and that’s about it. I wish that you could have known me during my entire life of addiction and incarceration.

As you can imagine, I was ‘hard’. All of my best friends are guys, all of whom are currently incarcerated because some are still drug dealers, and they are my brothers. I love them. I even let my best friend get out of jail and come live with me and my family. He did awesome for quite a while until his mom and his dog (my dog that he gave me when he went to jail the time prior died.) He messed up and went back, but I still love him. He’s my brother.

Anyway, I am a girlie girl in appearance, but growing up with the ‘baddest’ guys in my area made me what I thought then, the ‘baddest’ girl, which I definitely was not in the way I thought at the time.

Don’t get me wrong, because I have always been a good person. An S1 at the Windsor jail once said, “I have never seen a sadder case, Samantha. You really are just a really good person with a really bad drug addiction.” Aren’t we all though? Nobody wants to be the bad guy, and for us, it’s more like waking up one day and realizing a horrible plot twist. Not only are you addicted, but you are the Joker of the story.

The chakras offer a holistic and unique approach to addiction and recovery. They’re like the colorful characters in my personal recovery story, each contributing their own flavor to my journey. So, let’s embrace the healing power of chakras with a smile and a sense of adventure because I am telling you that working through your chakras and unlocking their divine power will forever be the best decision you have ever made. Feel free to thank me later.

If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired and you think you have tried everything and nothing has worked, please stick around because I don’t know how it happened, but I got sober, and I did it on my own by using the law of attraction, spirituality, the power of positivity, and my knowledge of the chakra energy centers to make small changes every day that lead up to big results over time. No groups. No 12-step meetings. Just me doing thinks a little different this time.

Almost eight years later, after having two late-in-life kids, purchasing my own 350k home, becoming a professional coach, starting my first business, and founding this blog to help others, I have to say holy sh*t! It fu*king worked, you guys, and if it worked for me, I promise it can work for you.

CE 5 Experience

CE 5 Experience

CE 5 Experience 180

In the beginning, sobriety was difficult, but not as difficult as finding substances to poison my body on an hourly basis. When I think about all the time wasted on drugs and jail, I used to feel shame and regret, but now I think about where drugs and jail eventually got me.

Progressing, Not Perfecting

As I write, I am in a beautiful condo in Ceiba, Puerto Rico. I just got done swimming with my beautiful late-in-life children. (Meaning I gave birth at age 36 and 39.) I see now that the plan was perfect from the beginning. A tree fell next to our house and happened to break a window, and I managed to get about 6k, which I should have spent on digging myself out of debt, but me and my impulses. The entire trip has been blown up by bill collectors calling on repeat, but hey, we needed a vacation. Progressing, not Perfecting, right?

I grew up poor, starving, and to be honest, smelling like cat pee. Yes, it was horrible, but even as a child, I had a way of making the best out of the worst situations. Even though I was cherubic, taller than all the other kids, and smelling of cat pee, I somehow remained likable to most. I was never picked on to my face, and I was always popular, and I always had rich friends that I dreamed of switching places with.

I am 3 years into my awakening, and every day things become more clear to me. Everything I endured in my living hell of a life gave me strength in that area. The same strength that I use to help those struggling today.

Indigo

When I was forced to face down my incessant desire to help others, even to my own detriment, I found out that I am a Starseed/volunteer/indigo. I tried so hard to disprove it all, but the harder I tried, the more it became a realization. Right down to the RH-negative blood running through my veins. Check out this article to get more on that here.

Two nights ago, as Pat and I sat on the balcony of our air bnb I suddenly had an idea. “Pat, let’s make contact!” Pat looked at me like I had three heads. I felt like I had three heads. Dr. Steven Greer has an app called CE 5. I don’t know if you all are familiar, but this is a way that Dr. Greer claims we can make contact with Extraterrestrials. I know how it sounds, believe me.

CE 5 Contact

20230206 220100 00002355452436202106707
CE 5 Experience 181

This was another attempt to disprove some of the things I had learned. I have always considered myself to be a pragmatic realist. Facts only over here! I suggested doing the CE 5 protocol because we were bored, and this was at least one thing I could most likely disprove, or so I thought.

Now, take this next bit however you will. I am not woo-woo, so I will remain impartial. Mind you, I have been stone-cold sober for seven years next month.

We played the tones on the app, laughing. We then stilled ourselves for the following meditation and journey to our center. The app asks you to picture your whereabouts and to be honest, neither of us was likely to be accurate with this thanks to GPS. We finished the meditation. Pat ended up in a deep sleep. Nothing happened. I was satisfied.

Until the next evening when we made our way to the balcony to see how many iguanas we could spot on the top of the trees. When I looked up, I saw this multi-colored ball of light on the horizon. (I shot TONS of videos.) I have proof of what we witnessed, and I have shown it to many others who can’t explain it, and I was thinking that they had a hard time finding us because we weren’t picturing our location accurately.

Rainbow Star or More?

I really wouldn’t have thought too much of it if the colors weren’t so undeniably clear and… Well colored. We could clearly see it go from a red orb to a green orb and then from green to blue. It was directly to the right of our balcony directly across.

Then we look straight out, and we see another one. I started looking up the satellites and locations on google. Nothing is going on over Puerto Rico. NOTHING. We stayed out on the balcony until well after the kids were in bed. We took a bathroom break around midnight, and when we went back out, they were gone. Just gone.

Pat was very reluctant to believe that we had made contact. Like really reluctant. The next night we made our way out to the balcony, and don’t you know that the one that was on the right was not there in the same spot, but it was there. It was about 45 degrees further to the east. There was no second one on the second night.

Little Ole Us

Png 20230206 220830 00008264167409883701472
CE 5 Experience 182

Last night we went out, and there was no sign. I asked Pat if he wanted to do the CE 5 protocol again. He agreed because he simply could not allow himself to believe that this was actually a CE 5 contact that we had made. Little ole us. A bit after I mentioned it my daughter came out, and she points out the beautiful multi-colored orb in the sky, again in a different spot.

Could they have somehow received the signal of our desire to see them again? We hadn’t done the CE 5 exercises again, but here they were. I can’t explain it, and I won’t try here. I have plenty of footage, and when I did some research, I found on Reddit that this is the extent of the contact that most who have attempted contact have made. Glowing or multi-colored orbs in the sky. I read that they don’t want to scare us so this is as far as they will go.

Take it all as you will, but I say put your money where your mouth is. Instead of judging me and thinking I have gone three sheets to the wind, just try it. What harm is there in trying? Times are changing. Remember when all of the cell phone companies were competing and putting the competition down? Now they all work together much like everything else. Ifft is a perfect example. Everything and everyone working together for the best possible user experience. It’s quite the shift.

If you are interested in seeing some of the footage I took that night, you can find it posted here on my ‘kind of’ YouTube channel.

What do you think?

What do you guys think? I believe that we have been seriously misled by a greedy and impure government in more ways than we can count. If we are to believe the experiences of Dolores Cannon, then we know that the ETs have saved humanity many times over. They have only ever tried to aid us and get us where we need to be.

I liken it to the fact that if we were told as children by our elders that we could fly, but we had never seen anyone fly, would we believe we could fly? Yes, we absolutely would! We trust the generations that came before us, and they trusted those that came before them. We have been misled for many centuries and beyond.

7 Benefits of Mindfulness Meditation for Addiction Recovery 216

According to the World Health Organization, 284 million people, or 3.8 percent of the world’s population, suffer from anxiety disorders. Addiction frequently co-occurs with most anxiety disorders. In fact, over 8 million Americans suffer from both mental health issues, such as anxiety, and substance use disorder, according to a recent report from the American Addiction Centers. Moreover, according to the report, approximately 20 million people in the United States are affected by a substance abuse disorder and could benefit from mindfulness meditation.

Our Issues

Addictive behaviors and anxiety problems can develop apart from one another, or they can trigger each other. Moreover, because they are related, one disorder may have an impact on the other. I have suffered from both and each individually, and it is just so hard to make those in our lives understand. I gave up trying long ago, but I assure you that is not the answer. After a lifetime of trial and error, I will also express, in the most honest of terms, what has and hasn’t worked for me in my many, many failed attempts at recovery and the eventual success that has brought me here today.

Before moving forward, I would like to address what a large majority of recovering readers are thinking right now. A thought that may have added about fifteen years to my struggle. People with ADHD CAN meditate. I mention this because I have a great deal of regret for not listening to my very first therapist at the age of nineteen. She tried every single session to get me into meditation, and I was NOT having it. Man, do I wish I would have listened. You CAN meditate. They even have ADHD meditations. I started with just being still for five minutes twice a day, and now I can meditate for hours. Seriously.

Stress & Anxiety

Since meditation is designed to relieve stress and help to relieve anxiety symptoms, it can support our recovery process. When used with effective treatment programs, it can help to reduce withdrawal symptoms. Also reduces the cravings associated with substance abuse, which we definitely do not want to hear while actively withdrawing. If only we weren’t so set in our ways, right?

As a working mom sober for almost seven years and suffering from social anxiety, I can personally attest to the effectiveness of meditation for treating SUD. To help you discover some of the benefits of these practices, I’ll provide more information. Maybe discuss some of the benefits you can expect, even for those of us suffering from ADHD.

Meditation for Addiction Recovery?

Meditation is a technique in which someone focuses their attention on a particular activity, object, or thought to reach a cognitively lucid and emotionally tranquil state.

To promote mental health and quality of life, meditation aims to bring the body and mind into harmony. Heightened awareness and connection result from deep breathing, repeating a mantra, and concentrating on your breathing.

There are several health advantages to meditation, especially for those of us recovering from addiction or receiving addiction treatment. Due to its profound effects, meditation has gained wider popularity as a therapy for substance misuse and health and wellness.

Effectiveness of Meditation for Addiction Recovery and Other Mental Health Disorders

Gyan Mudra Hand Symbol root chakra correspondence with butterfly. Addiction for meditation.

While it’s true that sitting cross-legged and chanting can be a form of meditation, there’s so much more to it than that. It combines mental and physical wellness without the need for drugs, and it is helpful for those of us in recovery because it induces a state of calm, anxiety-free.

Meditation for addiction recovery means it assists in overcoming the difficulties of addiction recovery. It prevents us from resorting to drugs or other potentially harmful or ineffective coping mechanisms. The goal of meditation is to cultivate mindfulness. This helps you recognize your emotions and learn how to control them, not block them out.

Research reveals that meditation can physically alter the brain in addition to aiding individuals in better managing their feelings. On top of that, it assists in developing a healthier consciousness in general.

Meditation and Visualization can take you anywhere.

Anxiety

Meditation also helps to build healthy behavioral patterns by starting and generating positive changes within the brain. This is particularly advantageous for alcohol and drug use recovery programs. It can assist us in identifying some of the underlying problems associated with our substance use disorders by inducing favorable changes in our brains.

Speaking for myself, anxiety was one of the top triggers of my active addiction. I believed that heroin was the only way I could escape my anxiety. I have yet to meet a client that doesn’t suffer from some sort of anxiety disorder. Meditation hasn’t failed me yet in my many recommendations to clients once I can talk them into actually doing it.

The Types of Meditation Practices Recommended During the Recovery Process

This is your brain off drugs.

There are several types of meditation that you can use throughout the process of addiction recovery. Each can produce significant therapeutic effects. To help you understand them a little better, I’ll discuss the different types in the section below.

Mindfulness Meditation

Breathing Reducing Addiction And Anxiety Symptoms
Breathing exercises are extremely beneficial.

This kind of mindfulness meditation is typically done while sitting comfortably in a serene, calm environment. Concentrating on the present moment is a key component of mindfulness meditation. Your mind becomes more at ease, allowing emotions and thoughts to flow easily with mindfulness practice.

According to a study conducted by the National Institute of Health, participants of mindfulness practice exhibited lower stress levels than those who did not. Not to mention the serious reduction in anxiety symptoms.

Keep in mind that your aim when practicing mindfulness meditation should be to simply monitor your thoughts and emotions. Try not to participate or pass judgment.

Breathing Meditation

You can make meditation meaningful and fun.

This form of meditation seeks to relax the mind and cultivate inner serenity. It is typically carried out with your eyes closed while seated comfortably. Focus on each inhalation and exhalation as you inhale and exhale.

As you relax your muscles, maintain your focus on your breathing. This will help you to bring your thoughts back to the present moment, which can be particularly helpful for those of us recovering from addiction.

Mantra Meditation

Image Of The Word Mantra Spelled Out In Silver Dice With Letters On Them.
Mantra meditation has been scientifically proven to silence racing thoughts. Meditation for addiction recovery works extremely well.

A mantra is a short saying, noise, or word you keep repeating aloud as you meditate. You can say it to yourself aloud or in silence. This kind of meditation relaxes the mind, lessens stress, and offers a deeper level of calm. It also aids in achieving clarity and tranquility. Mantra meditation is particularly beneficial for those of us suffering from ADHD and/or anxiety.

Scientific research has proven that mantra meditation is effective in silencing racing thoughts, which can lead to many other benefits such as increased attention span and focus, being less prone to distraction, and a more positive mood and outlook. Finding a mantra that helps you focus and seems natural to you is crucial. I am aware that this sounds a bit like “woo woo.” You should hear me doing it! Not the coolest thing to be caught doing, but the benefits for my ADHD diagnosis outweigh the temporary embarrassment.

Moving Meditation

Image Of Woman On The Beach With A Beautiful Sunset Behind Her As She Does Yoga.
A mindful walking meditation can seriously reduce symptoms of addiction and anxiety.

Not all forms of meditation entail remaining still. Being conscious of the present moment while performing focused movements is known as moving meditation. You can practice this form of meditation in a quiet inside space like your house or outside in your backyard, forest, or woodland, close to a lake, for example.

Pick a pastime you enjoy, such as yoga or even something as simple as walking. Pay attention to the movements you make and how they flow through your body.

When practicing moving meditation, you must focus on what your senses tell you about the surroundings, including the sounds of wildlife, the sounds of water, or the sounds of nature.

Meditation is Beneficial to All

According to a study conducted by the National Institute of Health, participants of mindfulness practice exhibited lower stress levels and anxiety than those who did not. I am sure you are starting to see how great the benefits can be for all of us in early to long-term recovery and those of us who are lucky enough not to be familiar with addiction. Meditation is beneficial to all.

The Benefits of Practicing Meditation Recovering from Substance Abuse

Now that you understand what meditation is, why it works, and a few of the many different types you can practice, it’s time to talk about how it can help us with our substance use issues and overall mental well-being. Meditation has been found to provide significant therapeutic benefits for those struggling with substance use disorder (SUD), including the following:

1. It Reduces Stress and Anxiety Levels in and out of Active Addiction

Image Of A Womans Face Wih A Sectioned Face Before Her Represents Feeling Separate With Addiction And Anxiety.
Addiction and anxiety cause separate and disconnected feelings.

Reducing stress is one of meditation’s most prominent advantages. Because of lifestyle changes and the difficulties of sobriety, those of us in addiction recovery may feel more stressed and anxious than usual.

Fortunately, meditation can aid in the relaxation of the mind and the creation of space for present-moment focus. This is especially useful for controlling cravings and triggers.

2. It Improves Your Self-awareness

Self-awareness is stressed in conventional therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy. As the name suggests, it is the state in which you are conscious of your ideas, behaviors, and overall self.

Pay attention to how you’re feeling in specific scenarios when controlling addiction cravings while in recovery. Self-awareness can be improved by meditating, which can also assist you in suppressing unwanted feelings and thoughts that might jeopardize your sobriety. Anything that helps me curb my addiction is more than welcome in my life.

3. It Broadens Your Perspective

Meditation Pose

Meditation can broaden your viewpoint, enabling you to consider your emotions and thoughts from a variety of perspectives. This can assist you in “getting out of your head” and gaining a broader, more compassionate perspective of your circumstances, which can be highly beneficial for those struggling with substance use disorders.

4. It Can Help You Sleep Better

After seven years, I am still an insomniac. I have tried every sleep medication out there. The ones that make you eat everything within your arm’s reach right before it knocks you out for 26 hours, just to wake up and take it again. The ones that have a forty-five-minute window that won’t allow you to sleep if you don’t fall asleep within those forty-five minutes. The all-natural ones and the syrupy ones.

Insomnia during recovery is definitely a very real and torturous thing. Nothing worked for me. I was to wound up. Now I can sleep! I sleep at night, and you can too. We all experience anxiety and stress at night, but simply taking some time throughout the day to relax can help you feel less stressed before you’re ready to turn off the lights. The more time that passes with meditation as a part of your daily practice, the more glorious sleep you will create for yourself. It’s beautiful.

5. It Enhances Your Mood

Image Of Affirmation Working On Myself For Myself By Myself.
Mindful meditation mantra or affirmation.

I got to a point where I was just really bitchy and on edge every day when I got home from work. I would do one of those passive-aggressive mumblings under my breath about nobody helping me around the house and don’t anyone ask me for nothing, type of deals. So not cool, and so not me. Meditation has been demonstrated to improve mood in addition to assisting with stress reduction. This may encourage you to think positively over the course of your day and provide the self-motivation you need to reach your addiction recovery goals. Not to mention it gives your family, friends, and/or loved ones a break from your moody and bitchy self. Can’t beat that.

6. It Reduces Your Blood Pressure

The relaxation response that mindfulness can elicit is the opposite of the fight-or-flight reaction, which is typically brought on by stress. Those who practice relaxation response training often have a higher chance of controlling their blood pressure to the point that they may cut down on or stop taking their prescription medication.

Those who practice relaxation response training often have a higher chance of controlling their blood pressure to the point that they may also cut down on or stop taking their prescription medication with their doctor’s support and assistance in doing so.

Side Note that’s Not on the Side

Image Of Children Doing Mindfulness Meditation.
Mindfulness meditation practice to prevent anxiety.

This is another huge one for me. When I was pregnant with my son, my blood pressure was out of control. They were concerned about the possibility of pre-eclampsia. It didn’t help that my dad had had three heart attacks by the time he was thirty-five, I suspect that his years removing asbestos may have played a role in this, but it’s in the family.

A year after I delivered my son, which was last year, I was still on blood pressure medication. Taking it right up until I began to take meditation seriously and definitively decided to step up my meditation game.

Turns out it was an excellent choice. I was able to completely stop taking my blood pressure medication with the assistance of a health care professional. (Only with your doctor’s approval should you discontinue the use of any medications.) This showed me that in addition to substance use disorder benefits, those in recovery can also enjoy other health benefits, and many of them.

Game Changers

Once I realized the significant changes in my blood pressure, I realized that I had really become a lot calmer. This was a vital change for me on many levels because of the cloak of calm, I somehow found clarity. I honestly can’t remember a time in my using life that I had ever experienced true clarity, and clarity wasn’t something I had even bothered with up until this point. I had no idea what a game-changer this would be for me. If you are interested in another of my “game changers” in recovery, check out my article, My Supernatural Experience. I continue to do what I am doing for continued clarity because it has become essential for me, but please keep in mind that along with the possibility of clarity, practicing meditation can lower your risk of heart disease!

7. It Improves Your Mental Health and Anxiety

Image Of Balloons Flying Out Of A Plastic Head Representing Crazy Brain Before Meditation Shows Addiction And Anxiety.
Increased mental health reduced. anxiety

Individuals suffering from depression are frequently advised to try meditation since it can aid with mental wellness. When a person encounters the symptoms of a mental illness, meditation can help the brain learn how to maintain focus.

According to research, meditating can also sever the link between the amygdala and prefrontal cortex, which together play a role in the development of depression. For me, depression goes hand and hand with my active addiction. Now that I am an experienced meditator, I wake up every single day happy, and I force this on my children. I wake them up every single morning by singing, “Wakey, wakey! Rise and shine! Get up, get up! It’s happyyyyyyyyy time!” They love it now, but just wait until they hit their tweenage years!

Leading a Horse to Water

Substance abuse is a major problem in the United States. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over 450,000 people died as a result of opioid misuse between 1999 and 2018.

Meditation is an effective way to ease substance use withdrawal symptoms and relieve symptoms associated with anxiety and mental health disorders. You can contact a facilitator or simply practice meditation at home or in a quiet space of your choosing. YouTube has a vast plethora of meditations, binaural beats, trance music, etc. The sense of community is great as well. I always check out the comments, and they are always filled with light & love. It’s refreshing!

53

We have made it this far, and being one of those among the number above is just not an option at this point. How many of your loved ones are in that simple statistic? Many more than a handful of people I once cherished are within that horribly saddening number. I stopped counting at 53, and that is no exaggeration, and I can sometimes exaggerate numbers, but not on this one. I don’t want that for you or your loved ones. The thought alone makes me want to work even harder and do even more. Unfortunately, as we all know, you can lead a horse to water…

Don’t Make My Mistake

I know how you are feeling if you are reading this and have done this song and dance for about twenty-five years. I simply wouldn’t hear of it. On my journey to recovery, I made many more missteps than any other person I have known. I know my shit, and if you know me, then you know that I just want to help people like me or like I was, but I remember that there was not a person in the world that could have gotten me to meditate.

This was not smart, and just as I was never comfortable in my own skin, I was also a person that had been repeatedly traumatized by a system and a community that had failed me. I had been administratively segregated by myself in a cell with nothing but a fireproof mattress and a roll of toilet paper for months and months at a time while incarcerated. This is an absolute near-death nightmare for someone like me. Being stuck with myself by myself with the self-loathing I held in my heart was THE worst thing imaginable for me.

Looking Back

I look back now and think, “Damn, had I shut my face and listened for once in my life, I could have used all that time for meditation and deep self-reflection.” I know how this sounds. Trust me. The fact that I am capable of even having those thoughts shows a tremendous amount of growth. Just saying.

Had I not decided to finally give meditation a try, I can tell you I wouldn’t be here today. I have taken very calculated and specific steps throughout my recovery this time. There have just been so many “lessons” up to this point. I could never begin to articulate where those lessons, which I once referred to as “failures,” had put my mindset. The frustration, shame, disappointment, embarrassment, powerlessness, etc. that I felt at the point in my life that led me to meditation is indescribable, but I know that you know it all too well.

Meditation releases chaos from your brain. And is a healthy, positive outlet.

Desperation drove me to meditation and determination, and the strongest desire to succeed at something, anything in life, is what keeps me at it.

Strength & Support

It’s another of my “if I can do it, then….” And you absolutely CAN, but will you? I beg you to humor me. Humor me for thirty days, quiet your mind for five minutes twice a day, and pay attention. Write down your thought processes, your emotional states, etc. Log your feelings and watch your life change. Watch out because you are going to experience some growth. After you do this, I will tell you about how this uncomplicated process became the beginning for me of a beautiful journey to my best and highest self, which is still a progressing, not perfecting journey that continues with each day that passes.

If you are here, I want you to know that I value you on a level that you will never know. I think it’s time for your win. It’s time for you to prove them all wrong. You’re tired, I know, but I promise if you find the strength for this grand finale, it is so worth it.

I KNOW How Hard It Is

I am here for you, and I know how HARD it is. Also, I know how the word hard doesn’t come close to doing our struggles justice, even in all capitals. Talk to me. I’m here. I’m not going anywhere until I am laughed out or forced out. I leave all doors to communication open for my readers, whether I have readers or not. It’s my strong desire to help, and there isn’t much I haven’t survived at this point. I have found a better way, and if you just stick around, I plan on telling you all about it.

In Conclusion

Please comment and let me know about your experiences with meditation and if this article resonated with any of you. I believe in this with every fiber of my being, and I hated the word meditation prior. Now, it’s another of my addictions because just wait until the first time you astral project!

Oh, you didn’t know that’s a thing. You didn’t know that through continued practiced meditation, you can travel to other dimensions on the astral plane? Didn’t know that the CIA used “remote viewing,” AKA Astral projection. AKA OBE or out-of-body experiences, to spy on our enemies during the Cold War in the 1950s? You didn’t know that it wasn’t death you experienced that summer? If you want to read my post, My Supernatural Experience: My Supernatural Review you should check it out.

My Supernatural Experience: A Supernatural Review

My Supernatural Review

Image Of Supernatural Game From Player Pov.

I will start my Supernatural review by sharing the many ways Supernatural affected my life. Supernatural:

  • Assisted me in kicking a 20-year-plus heroin addictions ass and assists me daily in my recovery.
  • The best alternative to inpatient treatment that I have ever been able to find for myself.
  • Taken my attention off social media.
  • Helped me to lose almost 80 lbs. of baby weight in a brief time with no other changes (Despite a hypothyroidism diagnosis.)
  • Helped me find self-confidence that I never knew I had.
  • Lowered my extremely high blood pressure (no more blood pressure meds.)
  • Seriously reduced my addiction to online shopping.
  • Assisted me in building muscle in places I did not know muscle could be.
  • Seriously increased energy levels.
  • No more depression. (No More Meds.)
  • Improved range of motion and flexibility.
  • Improved levels of anxiety. (No Meds.)
  • A workout that I hardly consider a workout.
  • Helped me build a life I am proud of.
  • Increased circulation everywhere.
  • Helped me meet amazing people in the Supernatural community.
  • My kids think I am cool cause I am a big bad “boxer” (and I am.)

You may be wondering how a “video game” could do so many wonderful things for me. You may be a bit skeptical or disbelieving? I promise you that Supernatural has done all the above for me and much more.  Supernatural can and will deliver. Let me explain.

I am 6.5 years sober after being addicted to heroin since I was 14 years old. I hated myself, as most of us tend to do when suffering from substance use disorder (SUD). That self-hatred leads to some sort of addiction more times than not. I always felt like I was wearing a skin suit that was about five sizes too small. Heroin took that away. It felt like the home I had always imagined I had growing up.

I got pregnant with my daughter at the age of thirty-five. Suddenly it wasn’t about me anymore, and to me, that mattered. We stopped using drugs that day. I removed myself from the place where I had been selling drugs. I traded up for a nice bed at a homeless shelter. Pat (my SO and baby daddy) and I worked our way up out of there. We purchased our home a few short years later, and when I was thirty-nine, I had my son.

During my late-in-life pregnancies and after, my weight got out of control. Five months into my pregnancy, I was arrested for sales that happened seven months prior to me changing my life. I did manage to be released two weeks before I had my daughter, and I was gigantic.

I got pregnant with my daughter at the age of thirty-five, and suddenly it wasn’t about me anymore.

Suffering from hypothyroidism can make it difficult for me to lose weight. Spending so much time in “finishing school” can cause seriously unhealthy weight gain. I would get out, and about the time I would start losing weight, I was right back in. (Sidenote: Finishing school is my alternative term for jail that I have been using since as far back as I can remember.)

I hadn’t lost very much before I realized I was pregnant with my son. I tried everything. When I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. I thought I would never lose weight. I also can’t stand any type or organized movement. Workouts are something most “thick” girls don’t care to partake in. I really didn’t want to partake. When I say I tried everything, I should also mention that I tried everything unhealthy. i.e., Diet pills, diet pills, and more diet pills. (Btw, they never worked.)

Crypto Gaming Token Curiosity

I had been investing in crypto for a couple of years. I had gotten very curious to learn more about gaming tokens (i.e., The Sandbox, Axie Infinity, Decentraland). The best way I could see to do that was to buy an Oculus Quest 2. (Affiliate Link. See disclosure above.) I purchased two, one for myself and one for Pat. People tend to hear about virtual reality and just think it would be super expensive. It’s not as much as you might think. You can even buy used on Offer Up for as low as $150. I love that you can take it anywhere. You can use it as long as you have a phone with service or Wi-Fi connection.

The first time I put on my headset and saw all these weird-shaped balls flying at my head at what seemed like an extremely high rate of speed, I immediately took it off. I told my SO (significant other) and my neighbor that I could never think of mastering anything like that. I believed it at the time too. Not even close.

Targets Getting Smashed In Vr Oculus Quest 2 Supernatural Fitness Game

This is a screenshot of the targets after I smashed them on the Oculus Quest 2’s Supernatural in VR

Soon I began thinking about it for self-defense purposes. I had always been a fighter when I was younger. It was an outlet for me as a child right up until drugs became my outlet. I have been known to throw myself around a mosh pit with the best of them. Man, I miss that shit. It’s a cold, harsh world out there. I have children. Then I figured I should know how to tear it up or just get a refresher on throwing punches.

Sick of having all the weight on, I decided to try it when no one was around to see me. I can admit I was insecure about how I might look while learning. I was hooked after my first session and could have cared less after that.

The Coaches

The coaches are amazing, and they seriously helped me find my confidence. All those mini pep-talks from Scott Hahari, Dwana Olson, Doc. (Antonio Harrison), Leanne Pedante, Raneir Pollard, and new coach Mindy Lai (these are the ones I have encountered while boxing.) These coaches are actual lifesavers. They did for me what nothing had ever been successful doing in my entire life, including drugs. I have never personally met any of them, but as crazy as it sounds, they are my best friends.

Finally, Being Built Back Up

My entire life, I have been torn down by the people around me. Living in a small town and being the first home raided for a drug like heroin made me the worst thing out there. People aren’t educated about these things, especially back then. I was a young girl that lived a nightmare for a childhood and simply needed someone to believe in me. I deal with stigma daily, even now, almost seven years sober.

These things have left me with extraordinarily little self-confidence. Throw in a criminal background and many gaps in my employment history, and I was working with zero self-confidence, self-love, and self-worth.

Clarity

Supernatural helped me gain clarity. Soon after I started getting these pep talks, I came to the realization that all of those that tore me down were simply trying to build themselves up. I love them, and I forgive them. Supernatural has helped me forgive them. During the workouts on Supernatural, these coaches are repeatedly telling you that you are worth it. That you can do it. That you will rise above. To focus on right here and right now, etc.

Being one that is constantly tearing myself down through my internal dialect, I would throw the coaches an eye roll, sometimes a mental eye roll, because you cannot take your eyes off those targets. If you do, they suddenly begin smashing you in the face, and even though it is just VR, it can be quite shocking and hilarious to anyone watching. Not as bad as the first time you punch yourself in the face or incorrectly estimate the distance between yourself and the nearest large object. (This is why the Supernatural Workout Mat is ESSENTIAL. It has two positioning knobs that you can feel with your feet to ensure room awareness, direction, and safety.)

Supernatural has helped me forgive them.

These coaches tell you that you are kicking ass and taking names workout after workout. This just sparked something inside that was completely foreign to me. A spark of a feeling that I had never known before. They sparked a tiny bit of self-confidence, and after that… Forget about it! Self-confidence is a wonderful feeling! Woooo-weee! What I had been missing! I will forever love every single one of them for every single spark they lit within me. That spark is now a full-on growing fire shooting off sparks of its own.

I keep at it every night. As someone who has always hated any organized movement. I was suddenly tracking my fitness. The weight was falling off me. This is not your typical workout. You are actively engaging in self-care. This word that we, Moms, and those of us in recovery do not know but always want to know. You are doing something for yourself.

A Supportive Significant Other

I am lucky enough that my SO has been so supportive from the gate. He gives the kids baths and whatever needs to be done early so I can get to bed earlier. I have an incredibly happy hope that you will be lucky enough to have that. Pat never saw Supernatural as a “video game.” He knew better. He knew that if I did not do something about the weight, then I wouldn’t be around to see our children grow.  It really was a matter of life and death.

I started my routine with Supernatural in May of 2022, and I did and do work out every night. Unfortunately, some nights I don’t get to it until after midnight. This makes it look as though I missed a day when I haven’t. Surprisingly, it is enough that I know that. Some nights I do 20-30 minutes, and others, I do up to 60-80 minutes. Starting off, I got hot and sweaty. I brought a big box fan out on the patio, and with time I wasn’t soaking myself. Sometimes I will jump in the pool after. It’s winter in Vermont now, one of the mildest we have ever had. I purchased a Hampton Bay Outdoor Patio Heater from Amazon. Now I can still go out back and do my Supernatural workout. I do sometimes stay inside when it’s cold out, though.

I have lost a little over eighty pounds in about 9 months.

Having lost a little over eighty-plus pounds in about nine months, which is almost nine pounds per month! If you know anything about hypothyroidism, then you know this is not easy, and I didn’t change my eating habits, but I am not a huge junk foodie either. Simply created new happy and healthy habits, and Pat, along with M&M (my Mikaiyah & Malyckai), were about the best cheerleaders a mom could ever ask for. I could not let them down now, could I?

Supernatural Lunge Bar And Uppercut Targets Flying Towards Me In 3D Vr And In 360 Degrees

This is a screenshot of a lunge bar and an uppercut coming at me at high rates of speed. Depending on the position of the lunge and duck bars, you lunge towards the left or right and squat for the duck bar. You can tell which way to punch the targets based on the way they are facing.

This is what led me to finally believe in myself enough to quit smoking. The self-confidence and increased mental health and mindset that I have gained with Supernatural, and my daughter simply saying, “Mommy, can you please quit smoking so you can see me be six?” That was it. Pat and I smoked our last cigarette two days later and have not smoked since. I could have never done that without both Supernatural and Mikaiyah. It went down that way for a reason, always does. Love you, Uni (universe)!

It’s Catchy

Friends have called me a “helper” of people. Being an empath who loves people, I cannot stand to see another living organism suffer in any way. I have helped people for as long as I can remember. I REALLY help people now. With self-confidence, I help them light their spark from my fire, and I just know that they will be OK. I guess you could say it is catchy.

Let me tell you how Supernatural helps me deal with issues in my recovery from substances daily. Whether you’re in recovery, know someone who is in recovery, or if you just have bad days. Then you have those moments where things could potentially shift from bad to worse. Seems that I have a lot of these minutes throughout the day, and I do a kind of grin and bear it. I get through them because I know that I can go home, and after I deal with my crazy kids and rack up a few more of those moments, I get to put them to bed and run to my back patio with my headset in one hand and my awesome Spring Bellabeat smart water bottle in the other. It really makes me want to drink water. That I have had for two months and already broken twice; I can also be a breaker of things.

Melting away the negativity

I know that whether I am boxing, flowing, or meditating when my workout is done, all the stigma and ignorance of the day will begin to melt away with each punch I throw. You have no idea what this means to me. I have an extremely high-stress job. People’s lives are on the line, including custody of their children, their freedom, etc. I am expected to be a robot with no feelings or attachments instead of the empath that I actually am. This may sound crazy, but Supernatural has really helped me step up my coaching game and bring it to the next level. I have always been a great coach, but now I am a freaking phenomenal coach. I know this to be true (thank you, self-confidence.)

Not to mention

I am floored by all the improvements that have occurred in my life because of my daily use of Supernatural. As I stated above, I have been able to stop taking my blood pressure medicine, anti-depressant, and pain medication. I regained the full use of my hands due to lack of circulation. Throwing all those punches has really been great for my circulation. I spend much less time shopping on Amazon and perusing social media websites such as Facebook and Instagram. I have increased cognitive function and better focus. Do not ask me how that is possible with my severe ADHD and executive function issues, but that’s what has happened.

The best part is that my kids (M&M) think I am the coolest. They love watching and copying everything mom does. Supernatural has saved my life, and I just wish there were a way that I could give back to them. This is my attempt, but should they ever need me or my Supernatural expertise/powers, they just need to ask.

In Conclusion

I think people struggling with SUD and those in short or long-term recovery could use Supernatural as a coping mechanism, just as I have. Cravings are a tough thing to get through, especially when you are having them for all the right reasons. Supernatural is my craving buster, and as I will repeatedly report, it’s many other things for me too. I mean- This was the first blog article I wrote.

The last thing I will mention is the amazing community that Supernatural supports and that supports Supernatural. I have never seen a more encouraging, motivated, motivating, and diverse community of individuals. We are all head over heels for Supernatural. Those of us that have been around know the meaning behind the name Supernatural because it’s what we have become.
